MARBELLA is a glamorous city with 24km of sandy beaches. The town offers its visitors the typical Andalusian flavour, with narrow streets, bright, white washed houses and squares full of flowers. There are a number of activities to keep you occupied including paradise like beaches, numerous golf courses and three leisure marinas. There are many luxury hotels, bars restaurants, commercial centres and an intense nightlife.
Marbella enjoys a special microclimate with no harsh winters nor suffocating summers. The average annual temperature is 19 celcius and the sun shines 320 days per year. The land that lays back from the beaches is a paradise of luxury houses, golf courses and beautiful mountain scenery.

There are a number of places that are especially worth a visit such as the castle, the old town, the museum for contemporary Spanish art, the bonsai museum and the Roman villas and baths. There is the June festival as well, which lasts about a week and includes music, dancing and bullfighting. There are golf events throughout the season and regattas and sailing facilities throughout the year.
MIJAS, known as the white village, is situated at the foothills of the Cordón Montañoso del Litoral (Coastal Mountain Range), one of the most typical examples of the pretty mountain towns of Andalusia, with views over much of the Costa del Sol.
There are three main areas to Mijas, the first is Mijas village full of history and culture that still conserves the image of traditional Andalusia. The second area, Las Lagunas, is the more modern part where you can find the industrial and commercial areas offering all the services of a modern town. The third, La Cala, a charming fishing village situated in the centre of the town’s 12km of beaches.
La Cala has a blue flag as one of the cleanest beaches in Europe. Most of the urbanisations are situated in this area which offers a wide range of sports facilities to its visitors: golf, tennis, sailing, windsurfing, etc..
MIJAS COSTA, situated halfway between Marbella and Malaga just 15 miles from each.
This beautiful area of coastline takes its name from the historic white city of Mijas 20 minutes drive inland. The area has a uniquely pleasant climate being sheltered from any north winds by a range of mountains. Ideally situated for golden beaches, numerous golf courses and the luxurious towns of Marbella and Malaga. The internationally famous marina resort of Puerto Banus is just 20 miles distant.
PUERTO BANUS, the St. Tropez of Spain, is located between Marbella and San Pedro and was established forty years ago. It is the town to see some of the most impressive yachts in the world. The marina has berths for over 900 and attracts crafts of all sizes. The marina has facilities for all water sports and is home to a marina observatory.
The marina has steadily grown over the years and now features a casino, commercial shopping centre and a multi cinema. Boat trips are available regularly to give you a different view of the marina. There is a wide array of expensive bars, restaurants and designer shops. The nightlife is well know among celebrities and there are countless clubs and pubs to visit.

If a relaxing afternoon playing golf is what you are looking for you will not be short on choice. There are nine 18-hole golf courses and one 9-hole course within a 10km radius. Some courses even have flood lighting for those who wish to play at night. Every Saturday morning in the town by the bullring there is a very popular street market where you can pick up all sort of bargains.
CALAHONDA is situated midway between Marbella and Fuengirola. It is claimed to be one of the finest developments along the Costa del Sol. The town extends gently from the coast up to the undulating hills, 300 metres above sea level, offering fantastic panoramic views.
One of the most emblematic spots in Calahonda is Club La Naranja, a social club for residents of the area. The club arranges numerous activities, sports competitions and cultural events. It is situated in the centre of the urbanisation surrounded by well-kept gardens.
Calahonda has its own marina, Puerto Cabopino, offering 170 berths for small and medium size vessels. The marina offers a variety of activities like sailing, wind surfing, kite surfing, dolphin watching and boat trips.
From Puerto Cabopino the fine sandy beach stretches along from Calahonda to Marbella. The beach has a lifeguard during the main season and there are many beach bars and restaurants. Calahonda has a 9-hole golf course and three further courses under construction. There are three public parks, tennis courts and a riding school.

ESTEPONA is located at the foot of the Sierra Bermeja Mountains, between Marbella and Manilva. It is protected by the mountains from the cold northern winds and thus maintains a mild climate offering up to 365 days of sun a year.
The town centre has kept is traditional Andalusian style properties and is also one of the most important tourist towns on the southern coastline. The town offers some of the most magnificent beaches and superb facilities including excellent hotels and restaurants.
Another of Estepona's pastimes, which are well worth investigating, are the numerous craft activities. The most important is pottery. Other crafts include carpentry; marble sculpting, iron forging, tapestry and saddle making.
CASARES is a town, which has been officially declared a place of historic and artistic interest. The town has a lot of history dating back to when Julius Caesar visited to cure a skin disorder. As thanks he ordered Roman baths to be built and allowed the village to mint its own coins.
Casares is considered one of the most beautiful towns in the province and offers a number of historical monuments. On the sporting front, this area offers all the necessary conditions and facilities for paragliding, climbing and other typical mountain sports. Not far from the village dwells one of the peninsula's colonies of tawny vultures. These birds with a wingspan of almost two metres fly daily across the sky above Casares.
You will find MANILVA on the Los Martires hill adjacent to Estepona, 128 metres above sea level. The village’s history is closely linked with that of Casares, from which, it became independent at the end of the eighteenth century.
The surrounding land is hilly, the terrain consisting of terraces that rise up gently from the sea. The mean annual temperature is 18°C. These features make the village suitable for beach and rural tourism. Other features of the village include its regular fishing trade, which can be witnessed every day at the market and the treading of grapes in September to produce the next vintage of muscatel wine.
Not only does the village offer a wealth of history, in this current day tourism has developed here and now there is a fantastic marina where water sports and diving can be practised.
